Any memorial which is laid flat, as opposed to being upright, when attached to a tree for instance, will be effected by the weather hitting it directly from above. If a memorial is painted, that will mean the paint will wear in a relatively short time. The lead was removed from enamel paint for health and safety reasons a few years ago.

Our "Low Maintenence" plaques have no paint. The background is removed leaving a raised, polished granite letter. As granite is very durable, this means that the plaques wont wear and will require only a quick scrub, which you can do yourself, around once a year.
